Anytown Leadership Camp

Anytown is a leadership and social justice camp that not only develops your character and motivations, but your entire community.

It resonates within everyone who attends because it is such a powerful experience and leaves you with new perspectives, new friends, and a new network that you will carry into your future.

Anytown is a life changing experience open to everyone who is willing to grow as a person. It offers bonding activities, and allows you to meet and befriend many people who have similar interests to you. It’s truly is an unforgettable experience, and it’s worth every second you spend there.

The most important part of my experience was interacting with other campers and getting to learn about our differences and their experiences in a. more intimate setting. I learned that I didn’t know everything and that there were still ways to improve as a person.

I plan to be more wary of microaggressions in my language and to check my friends when they say something offensive.

I learned very valuable life lessons. I learned about the importance of how my actions affect everyone around me, whether it’s good or bad. I learned that it is important to be more considerate and open-minded. People should support Anytown so the program can educate more teens about social problems and STOP IT!

Anytown has been the thing that has had the greatest impact on my life. It is why I became a teacher and has helped me beyond measure in that role. I would not be the teacher I am without Anytown.

Beyond that, are the friendships I have made that have lasted a lifetime. There is something very special about sharing the Anytown experience with others.

The Anytown experience has provided me with a new perspective in regards to how I see and understand others. It’s an experience I believe many teenagers would benefit as it allows us to observe and have the opportunity to listen to others. I’ve learned how to connect and be an ally.

I plan to quit making assumptions in general and plan to take more initiative to educate myself on certain topics.

Anytown was simply to put in words magnificent in a way that it opened and allowed me to be aware of how to advocate for issues that exist and have existed till this day. Anytown is a passion of drive to change within yourself and change others.

This camp has been undeniable one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Being able to have these discussions has challenged my views and helped me learn.

The ability to hear out other people/ group experiences and stories was so powerful in a way I’ve not really seen before. From learning about my privilege to finding communities I belonged in/ to, it meant so much to me.

My entire life changed after experiencing Anytown. Thanks to the program I know that social justice is the path I want to follow in college and there is no doubt about it. I know how to embrace the world around me and to spread a light that not everyone gets the chance to experience.

This group of people showed me what the world could look like and reminded me that kind people do exist and that they are all around us. It taught me that we can’t be all the good that the world needs, but the world needs all the good we can do.

Anytown is such a special experience. It has changed my perspective for the better in so many ways. I have never felt more loved, complete, supported and changed. Anytown is a camp everyone needs to experience because this world and community as a whole group of people need to change. We are not united as human beings and that is an issue.

A question we asked ourselves is “What would a world without hate look like?” Honestly, Anytown is what a world could look like without hate.
