From delegate to director

Amanda’s Anytown story began in 2012, when she attended her high school’s Unitown program (Panthertown) as a delegate and returned in the following years as a counselor. She was part of the 2014 Anytown delegation when camp returned after a pause, and she has since served at camp as a counselor, an advisor and, in 2023, one of the camp directors.

After four years as a classroom teacher, Amanda became West Valley Director for Treasures 4 Teachers, a Valley nonprofit that provides low-cost materials to Arizona educators. In that role she works with community stakeholders, visits schools to connect with educators across the West Valley and serves as a voice for teachers within the organization.

Amanda takes pride in the female, Indigenous representation she brings to every space she is in, and she hopes to inspire Indigenous youth. She is a strong advocate for representational education, believing Brown and Black students should feel empowered by the literature and content taught in their classrooms. She believes in Anytown’s mission and that a perfect world would be one where everyone got to experience Anytown.
